Agents are the deadliest of foes that you will encounter will in the Matrix. Before he becomes the One, Neo will struggle to match it with them but after he ascends to the One, he will fight them with ease. The Agent you will encounter the most in the game is Smith, Neo's arch-nemesis throughout the duration of the game.

Agent Jones-

The Agent famous for fighting Neo on top of the military-controlled building after Neo and Trinity try to save Morpheus. He is as strong physically as Smith and Brown and is a capable martial artist and gunman. Although not as strong as the upgraded Agents, he can still give Neo a run for his money.

Agent Smith-

The main antagonist of the Matrix, Smith is the leader of the first batch of Agents. Although the original Agents are deleted, Smith lives on and becomes physically more powerful than his Agent form. He desires the overthrow of Neo more than anyone else and is willing to give anything to achieve this goal. He has many face-offs against Neo during the course of the game.

Agent Brown-

Brown is as strong as Agent Jones. Brown is known for his chase of Trinity at the very beginning of the first flim. Although he ultimately failed in reaching her, he lived on and pursued Neo, Morpheus and Trinity throughout the rest of the film. He is presumably deleted after Smith is destroyed by Neo.

Agent Jackson-

Jackson is not really famous for any fight scenes however when Agent Thompson attempts to kill Trinity after Neo reaches the Source, Jackson assists him. Although none of his shots hit Trinity, he helped Thompson give Trinity no other choice but to jump from the building.

Agent Johnson-

Agent Johnson is the leader of the upgraded agents. He is much stronger than his predecessors however he is still no match for Neo. Famous for fighting Morpheus on top of a truck during the highway scene, he easily outclassed Morpheus, only to be kicked off the truck after letting his guard down.

Agent Thompson-

Thompson was the Agent responsible for the death of Trinity, even though she was later revived by Neo. One of his bullets made contact with Trinity's chest, wounding her. However, Neo saved her in the nick of time. He also appears at the Burly Brawl only to be turned into a Smith after a few seconds. He is the last ever Agent to be seen in the Matrix Trilogy.

Battling Agents-
Use the environment: Agents are nearly unbeatable. In many cases, Neo's hand-to-hand attacks can only delay and annoy an Agent, and you'll have to think of another way to survive the fight. Try throwing Agents toward objects within the environment than can deal heavy damage.

Get help from Allies: When Agents shoot at you, use Bullet Dodge to evade the shots and open up the Agent to attacks from your allies.

Turn the Agents' abilities against them: Agents can dodge bullets, but firearms aren't completely useless. Blast a few shots at an Agent to pin them down while you gather your wits or make an escape.

Agents Adapt: Agents are adaptive programs that rapidly learn to counter repeated attacks. Your best chance of survival is to continually vary your types of attacks.
